Conservancy Annual Dinner 2006

Westmoreland Conservancy Annual Dinner, May 7th, 2006

The Westmoreland Conservancy had one of the most enjoyable annual dinners at the Willowbrook Country Club. All aspects of the event were a resounding success. Donations from local businesses added flavor and an auction provided flourish. Culminating the evening was a magnificent talk and presentation by James C. Finley, Associate Professor of Forest Resources at The Pennsylvania State University School of Forest Resources. "Our forests provide diverse and important values to our lives and the places where we live. Conserving and managing forests and other greenspaces is critical as they are under increasing parcelization and development threats. The evening's program will help us explore these threats, look at forest values, and allow us to consider reasons and approaches for conserving forests in the landscape so that they continue to provide the ecological, social, and economic values that we must conserve for today and for tomorrow." His presentation was locally oriented, and well received. Our thanks go out to all who made this event an impressive delight.
